Winner of the top prize at the Venice Film Festival, Still Life is a poetic and deeply moving story of two characters searching for missing partners in a town that is being demolished and then flooded as part of the Three Gorges Dam project.
Filmed in long, contemplative and beautifully composed takes, and packing some surprise stylistic twists, it offers a thought-provoking portrait of people adrift in a world they no longer recognise.
